We welcome you to another new event site in the Prescott area. Our Gates Tank event site is conveniently located a short distance south of AZ-69 on Walker Road, just south of Costco. Prescott National Forest abuts the Prescott city limits in the area and offers participants an excellent mix of pine forest and minor drainages. Recent forest thinning has removed much of the undergrowth, leaving mostly runnable terrain under the trees. Some wood-chip debris remains from the thinning, but the forest is mostly open in the area. We hope you'll consider joining us at our new event site.
Directions
From the Intersection of AZ-69 and Walker Road:
- Note: A Costco is located on the southeast side of the intersection of AZ-69 and Walker Road.
- From the intersection, travel south 0.6 miles on Walker Road.
- Just past the sign "Forest Trailhead, Trail No. 62", turn right (west) into the trailhead parking area.
- Look for the orange and white orienteering signs marking the event start/finish location.
